Techlinked hacked again?

martixy

This is getting silly at this point...

Nor do I see a thread about it. I'm never the first to notice, so... Could it be something local? The nearest google datacenter having a stroke? (Surely not threads getting removed.)

All together now... Damn it, Colton!

TechLinked currently doesn't show up as a channel under LTT (or any of the other LMG channels):

Here's the message I got from an embedded player on the subreddit:

Or this is some kind of aftershock from the last hijacking. Maybe someone at YouTube pressed the wrong button, or an automated system acted on crypto scam residue still clinging to it somewhere.

EDIT: There's also this:

And this:

Nothing on the official TechLinked Twitter account yet.

Maybe that's why I was the first. It's noon here. I just had lunch.

This is gonna be a funny video after Linus' serious "everybody do better" last one. 😂

Could be.

I'm on UTC+1, they're on UTC-7
If it is a deliberate attack it would make sense to do it at that time.

Wasn't there reports of an exploit where you can cause channels to get taken down by causing strikes on their channel?

It could be something like that.

Another nice sponsor deal

I sometimes wonder how we went to space on only 4KB RAM, and we cannot fix a simple issue.

LMG needs to rethink their cyber-security practices because it doesn't work.

Maybe they need cyber-security specialists to perform an audit and teach them a thing or two.

Did the channel actually get hacked though? No one's posted any screencaps of offending content.

Something like that doesn't happen overnight. They clearly understand the need for improved cybersecurity and processes internally, but the cookie session piece isn't solely just on them - the fact that these cookies can be stolen and re-used without requiring a user to log back in is the more concerning element here.

They've already mentioned working on implementing safeguards against this, but like I said, that doesn't happen overnight.

It's in their best interest to make sure this doesn't happen again - so they're definitely on top of it but again, they're a case of a company that's gotten extremely large, extremely fast and that comes with its own set of challenges.
