Galaxy Z Fold 3 - Pressing the power button unlocks then shuts off the screen?

Sarra

Okay, Lift to Wake is off in the settings.

Keep screen on while looking at it is off in the settings.

Always on display is on.

I lift my phone up, push the power button, the phone logs in, then the screen shuts off like I pressed the power button a second time. I did NOT push the power button a second time, just once, and my phone does this about 80% of the time.

Is there a fix for this, or do I need to start just double tapping the screen and laying my finger on the power button to unlock it? It's exceedingly annoying. >_>

Try restarting your Z fold 3, check for software updates, try turning off wifi and turning it back on, or uninstalling and reinstalling Samsung pay.

Have you tried turning it off and on again? Maybe Restart it?

button is dying, needs hardware to be replaced imo.

you need a repair shop that has the replacement part or send it to samsung for it.

I reboot occasionally, doesn't make any difference; It's done this since new, and software updates haven't changed anything.

I think I have Samsung Pay completely removed, I've never used it and don't want it wasting space on my phone.

WiFi is enabled about half the time, so I doubt that's it, doesn't make any difference either way. =\

That's weird, because if I use a finger that I don't have the finger print leaned on, it just turns the screen on and brings up the PIN login page, it doesn't turn off instantly again. So, I'm not entirely sure this is it?

oh this is important info you left out. something broke in software when an update happened? the fingerprint reader is faulty? honeslty i don't think there's anything you can do yourself about it in most cases.

I think it's a software issue. I noticed that the screen turns on by itself sometime when I pick the phone up, even if I have 'lift to turn screen on' turned off? I'm really confused.

It's done this since it was new, sadly, through at least 3 major updates.
