What is your most Liked \ Disliked Z97 Board?

They should have all learnt from Asus on this one the maximus V formula used 3/8" barbs and the maximus vi formula changed to G1/4" threads.

hopefully linus gets one and reviews it properly lol

That's got to be a miss print. Techpowerup lists it as 12 phase, and the MSI UK and Global sites both say 12 phase

EDIT: http://www.msi.com/product/mb/Z97_MPOWER_MAX_AC.html#overview

good catch. seems to some discrepancies on specs. the xpower says 20 phase on usa site but global says 16 phase. i wonder if the same hardware is different by region? but I doubt it, thats not likely.

these numbers dont really phase me at all. On any Mpower board, in regards to a  24\7 stable OC, you will be limited by your silicone long before you need more phases

Z87 Xpower 32 phase anyone?

still prefer the z87 x\ mpower heatsinks.

My favorite was the EVGA Classified, but at $379 I feel like it's too much for me to buy just for the looks.

But then... it came this beauty... I am now in love.   For the features and the goodies it comes with at $259 it's a damn good value!

What MBs I don't like? The whole Gigabyte G1 series, I hate them for ruin what it was a beautiful original green theme.

I wonder if the MPower Max logo lid up like that too, I'm not spending $100 over the MPower Max just for that but it does look good I admit haha

Edit: Nevermind, it probably not.

call me crazy or dont call me at all.

I just noticed something weird. if a z97 board has a supplemental pcie power connector they all seem to be in basically the same spot on these z97 boards, all 6pin pcie connector with the exception of asrock still rocking the molex.

Took a look @ Gigabyte's website and it looks like Newegg fucked up on the listings anyway. Almost 100% sure half or more of the motherboards have the wrong images and/or names. For example, I believe the G1.Gaming board on Newegg has the VRM heatsinks with holes for watercooling, but on Gigabyte's website that's only on the Z97M-WIFI-BK (or w/e).

Still, I don't think I'd be getting my money's worth on most of these across any brand. The UD series of Gigabyte's motherboards look really underwhelming this time around, for some reason. But again, I am almost positive Newegg fucked up on everything. I don't have the time to double check right now so I can't say for sure and it may be fixed by the time I do.

Hmm looks like the G1 Gaming has the Watercooling support.

The G1 Sniper does not.

All of the pics seem to line up for me as far as whats on the egg and whats on vendor's sites.

$439/$472...yeah, no thanks. As nice as they look...

The MPower would be plenty for me. I think that one is ~$250.

the regular mpower is enough for anyone, including myself. the z87 regular mpower had wifi bluetooth this one does not. you have to get the max to get wifi. Im glad msi finally got rid of the shit wifi  connections and went with  SMA connectors

even getting the max is a waste IMO, unless you want that wifi. I would have gone for the non max z87 mpower, but it was not available at launch.

seems like folks enjoy the mpower this go around.

my rampage iv extreme didn't even cost that much...............................

Do you think an m power will have that "delid gaurd" thing? I may just delid and mount my block on the die, I'd imagine that's enough cooling to push over 1.5v for funsies

Yep, in my case for the WiFi and the way the PCI slots are arranged on the Max version(an excuse to spend $60 over the non-max lol). But you're right, the $199.99 MPower it's enough for us.
