The ML05 from Silverstone is physically about as small as it gets without resorting to weird things like external power supplies... And it's REALLY cool... But the challenge for me is that I just don't know WHO this case was built for...

HTPC users I guess, wish it had full size graphics card slot, would be great for an "console" PC

EDIT: guess you could put a nice high end Kaveri in there, shame that low profile cards are so hard to find

How come not even a mention of an AMD based APU built? is it because of the difficulty of a proper low profile cooling for those or something?

EDIT: Your amazon link it's still pointing to the Fractal Node btw.

Nice with that you could probably mod some sort of vesa mount and get a nice all in one that's actually capable of gaming.

Those single slot 750s look like they go a bit beyond the single slot internally....

Anyways, I was thinking a basic streaming box for Steam in-home streaming and various stuffs. Then I remembered the Intel NUC and Gigabyte Brix. Maybe if you wanted something like one of those small form factor builds but had a low-profile PCIe card you really wanted to use. Like a capture card, TV-tuner or something. I'm almost tempted to get one because of the form factor but... it really doesn't make much sense when you think about it....

The Galaxy cards require a low profile bracket to fit in this case. It's not included though.

I think this is the first time I missed something in the video that I would have liked to see or know more about: Optical drive mounting.

My expectations are that this case is ment to be a Mediacentre-like computer which could indeed be used as in-home steam streaming with a gaming rig located elswere. As this is used this way, I would love to be able to put in bought DVD's of Blu-ray discs to whatch movies for example. This would be a replacement for my DVD/Blu-ray player with a lot more functionality.

Silverstone did not include a slimline-loading bay just for bling, it is there because they expect you to use it. Why is this not covered in the video? I think it can be tricky to install it in the case.

Hope you appreciate my feedback.

I get that but I wasn't talking about the height of the cards I was talking about the width. The heatsink on those cards you linked looked like they would go beyond the single slot. Looking at the case in the video (and on Silverstone's site) it seems like there's zero room between the edge of the first slot and the PSU. So unless you modded the thing and got a smaller PSU in there it's not happening. By the time you've gone to that much trouble you probably would have been better off sacrificing a few cm in depth and width, killed almost all restrictions on components and gone with a Raven or something.

Ahh now that I know what you mean, I was thinking the same thing. It's a small card though.

Huh. I don't know why I didn't think about that. If you put an APU in there, it not only would look like an Xbox One, but would be about as powerful.

when you look 3:59 im not sure i there is enough room for the cooler. but the sparkle geforce gt640 2gb low profile would fit there

This could make pretty tiny yet awesome kaveri pc, and you could stick pads on side or make a vesa mount for it.

^_^

I wouldnt bother vesa mounting it, you want a nic/brix for that imo it would look great sat next normal AV equipment

Although I would spend the extra (and tiny bit bigger) and get the RVZ01 as it can take a full size GPU

My question is : could you mount a h90 or similar in that top 120mm? I know it would be extremely tight. Matched with AMDs best APU and an SSD it would make for a pretty beast and cool system. @LinusTech any knowledge?
