Alexa? There is a high end Echo that is a competitor to the HomePod 2nd Gen.

I have a neighbor that wants to have a system where he has a tablet mounted to the wall to control all the music. From there, he would like to have speakers laying around that can be controlled wirelessly or Bluetooth.

I am thinkin about going with lights with the speakers in them, as all they are using them for is for background noise. Doesn't need a fancy stereo system.

What would you recommend?

yeah...pod Apple or even a good quality from another brand but I would not use the lights.

Summer just around the corner and oh so easy to grab a couple of pods from the den the bedroom whatever and dump them on the patio balcony in the backyard whatever. lights are fixed and there ends any versatility.

agree with the above post...just look at all the options for any phone apple or android and the plethora of good quality bluetooth or wireless speakers...using a pad apple or android is the same deal in that respect. you need only to decide BT or Wireless and in some instances they might have both. then just wade thru the crappy speakers and spend time researching the good qaulity ones. And also look at options from home theater etc ...lots of great and economic solutions for small rooms which are also Blue tooth and would work well.
