Emoji selection not loading / broken or not showing

Browser, version and OS:

Chrome, Version 108.0.5359.125, Windows 11 Home 22H2

Steps to reproduce/what were you doing before it happened?

Was trying to select an Emoji while making a post. The selection either doesn't load or partially loads with a broken image symbol. Even if you select the Emoji, it doesn't show.

What happened?

The Emoji selection stays blank or some load with broken image symbol. Selecting the Emoji doesn't display it in the post either.

What did you expect to happen?

The Emoji selection to load up quickly and completely. Emoji to display.

It appears to happen on all pages for me, whether in create a thread or replying to a thread

Any other relevant details:

I tried Opera GX, and Microsoft Edge too and it didn't change anything. The issue appears in those browsers as well. I also tried clearing image cache in Chrome in case that might have something to do with it, but that wasn't it. I tried clearing image cache in Opera and that didn't do anything either.

If it's a cloudflare error, what was the ray ID from the bottom of the error page?

This is not a cloudflare error, ASFAIK.

Looks like the CDN for the twemojis is having issues. Probably not something admins here or Invision can control.

It's weird how the emojis are broken on the forum... when there really shouldn't even be a need for them as they are part the unicode standard and available on nearly every devices, including windows.

Meaning there's no reason to have "custom" ones that hijack the ones we insert, with broken ones.

Not sure if that's an improvement…

If you think I'm wrong, correct me. If I've offended you in some way tell me what it is and how I can correct it. I want to learn, and along the way one can make mistakes; Being wrong helps you learn what's right.

For consistency between devices, both in terms of supported emojis and their appearance.

This should be fixed in the next update.
