Okay, so I know that many people won't understand what I'm talking about..

 

But I think a doxer has my IP; if I change my IP, will they still be able to dox me?

If they have your IP and you change it, they won't have your IP :P

 

I have no idea what doxxing is but I think it would stop it if it relies on the IP

Well, how much information do they have?

If you get your ISP to change your IP address they won't be able to gather information directly from you anymore, If you change your IP address they will probably just give up on you, and move to the next target, unless it's someone out for vengeance.

If there is a program installed on you computer, of course that will just phone home your new IP-address, so changing it will do jack squad.

 

And for everyone that don't know what ´doxing´ is. It's a hacker, or group of hacker, that gather information about a person, and then post it on the internet 

 

Edit: Why do you suspect that someone is doxing you?

Assuming that i know what Doxing is now (thanks to @Volbet, and some googling). I would assume that the information he/she/they gather is personal entries on social-medias, and not based on what is on your PC. If so then no, if it is online, it is there to be found. (unless you delete it somehow)

EDIT: If the doxer(s) have your IP then it would still be wort the effort to change it.
