Dual monitors, ultrawide or ultrawide with another monitor

I currently have a 24 and 27 inch dual monitor setup. I'm planning on replacing both and curious what option would be best in terms of monitor setup. Ultrawide monitors are tempting, however i'm concerned with how they are supported in games and possible loss of dual monitor productivity.

 

Any suggestions?

No one can really tell you what's best, because it's going to be different for every person. The question you've asked is too based on personal preference for you to get an actual answer. Personally, I'd go with a 38" ultrawide, or a 49" if you have the desk space and can afford it. It'll give you the best of 2 of your suggestions. Only you can really answer if you'd need or want the ultrawide and secondary monitor setup. IMO it'd be a pain in the ass.

I have quite a bit of desk real estate and plan to mount the monitor/s on the wall.  I've heard good remarks on ultrawide monitors, however I'm not sure if it's worth and maybe rather purchase a high end 27 inch 1440p monitor.

 

I'm also a bit concerned with the loss in performance due to the higher resolutions ultrawide displays exhibit and also the compatibility in some games. I'm currently running a 3080 paired with a 3700x

This is my current setup. 

• 1x Super Ultrawide (or you can consider Ultrawide)
• 1 Wide (any not compatible games can use here, suggest you can keep your 27" Wide for compatibility usage)

Please ignore the middle display, that one I use for my laptop where best output in 1080p only.

Seems to be the best solution, thanks! What ultrawide monitors would you recommend?

If your Ultrawide is for gaming only not productivity, I suggest you get Dell Alienware AW3423DWF. This is one of the best QD-OLED Ultrawide Monitor. 

 

But if you plan to use it mainly for productivity, then I suggest you look others as currently none of gaming monitor OLED panel using standard RGB pixel alignment which cost of not that sharp text with some fringing issue.

I will pick LG 34GP950G over this XG349C anytime, this had HDR600 which should be as minimum based for HDR output.
