This second hand Lenovo M83 came with this thing below the DVD-RW. I've never seen such device. Have you?

It looks like a hot swappable SATA bay for 3.5 drives. Something like this:

It was a flash drive for geeks backthen, who can't wait for the next media storage technology after the slow zip drive.

You can install 2 hard drives without using that caddy. Your computer has 2 separate 3.5" drive bays inside for hard drives, and you could add an additional one up front if you wanted.

True, but the plastic hdd tray for the 2nd HDD is missing. I live in Romania and they're pretty expensive for what they do, they cost around 60 lei (12 usd) which is more than a used 500gb hdd, and it would be more cost effective to just upgrade the hdd to a ssd.
