Price almost always goes down. (especially when the game goes on sale or humble bundle) Sell them while you have them.

The price is stable, I craft them for fun because i don't value the small amount of money and much prefer my profile look cool.

Funny really, i've sold all of the ones i had so far apart from a magicka one and a steam summer sale one when they originally were released, and i've probably made about £20 from it.

You can't actually sell them as a set, you'd still have to sell them individually. The closest you can get to selling a set, is selling a booster pack. A booster pack is an item you get randomly and can open it up for a certain amount of random cards, typically 3 or 4.

When you do a get a complete set and craft the badge, the badge is permanent and is pretty much a piece of your Steam profile.

You can possibly get better deals by trading the cards for an item, such as scrap metal. Although that can be a frustrating time consuming process and doesn't always work out for you, as you have to find buyers willing to take a hit to make it worth it to you.

I've ignored them by and large, whenever I've looked at the value it's always pence, I don't know why anyone would want to collect them..

If you have a lot of games with a lot of available cards, that ten cents (US) adds up pretty quickly.

I bought the Reign of Giants DLC for Don't Starve with nothing but Steam Wallet funds I had from selling cards.

Some cards are worth more than others, as well. Most of the games that have been in humble bundles have really low value cards, in the 6-10 cent range. But some games, such as UT2014 have cards that sell for almost 40 cents.

Is it worth buying games to get cards? Absolutely not. But if they're just sitting in your inventory and you have no intention of crafting badges... why not toss them up on the market? With enough of them, you might even be able to get an add-on or something that you wanted... basically for free.

As for selling cards... if you're not going to craft anything with them, just sell them. Look at how much the card is listed for, and then undercut everyone else by a penny. It's the easiest way. I've sold everything I've listed on the market this way.

"A picture is starting to form here... I wonder if it's accurate? Some pieces don't quite seem to fit. Or maybe I just don't like the way it looks."

Maybe I will have a look at the value of my cards, I have many cards accrued and I've not even looked at them.

Thanks for the informative post.

So far i have racked up a little over 2$ with some worthless cards that were just sitting there. I used some of that money to buy a few dota 2 items at a low price and sell them for a bit higher hoping to get a little extra money for some DLC

Im into gimmicky stuff like this and keep all them for the levels. If you have enough, go ahead and sell them, you'll probably get quite a bit, otherwise, craft your levels.
