I have no issue with the 'clickable' titles, but this title is a downright lie!

 

You didn't pay $45,000, so why say it in the title?

 

You might as well have thrown some tits in the thumbnail as well if you're going to lie about the contents of the video.

Judging by the state it's in, I'm guessing that criteria wasn't met!

 

The damage to them looks like it's more from mishandling and being left outside than from the age of the material

The foam by itself will not experience much degradation as long as it's within reasonable use. But those that shipped have that tips cut off here and there. Goodness me, have the critics now start acting dense or something? 

My PC case will not experience much degradation and I have used the same case for 3 PC builds but damn if a reseller send me a PC case that is cut in two and expect me to use it. 🙄

Yes it is. The one he's pointing to is bent, dirtied and seemingly soaked in rain before when it's supposed to be used indoors only. That's degradation. Good lord, critics nowadays are just camping and waiting for the chance to pounce on Linus. He's a Youtuber, not English teacher.

Also, I'd argue it does tell you what the video is about. In the thumbnail it shows Linus holding some sort of foam apparatus, so a keen viewer would see and assume "Okay, they paid $45K for the blocks in the thumbnail, and got ghosted by the seller". Aside from the fact that LMG didn't actually pay for the foam (at least not yet), you're given a pretty good idea of what the video is about. It's entertaining, people like seeing super expensive tech that only the 0.01% can buy, it's for a similar reason why MrBeast is so popular.

 

So once again, not clickbait.

Not apples to apples at all. MrBeast isn't posting tutorials, reviews, and educational content that requires credibility. What's the point of Linus building a testing warehouse if the main goal is flashy entertainment. That's like getting your weather forecast from TMZ. Take Top Gear for example durability testing a Toyota Hilux. They certainly didn't do anything scientific and weren't trying to but they still conveyed it's durability in an entertaining way. 

 

The issue isn't showcasing expensive tech. It's showcasing expensive tech to get views for the sole reason it's expensive. This makes the videos bland as the focus isn't the tech but the tech's value and the price paid. You also need to realize not everyone is dissecting thumbnails to try and determine what the video is about and some viewers are legitimately blind. Which is a huge middle finger from LTT and all creators alike. Good luck using Youtube with an assistant narrating the video titles as it's a pure shit show. Screw ADA compliance am I right?

Hey LTT, I work for a company that has 2 of these types of chambers and we rent them out to clients all the time. The issue isn't showcasing expensive tech. It's showcasing expensive tech to get views for the sole reason it's expensive. You also need to realize not everyone is dissecting thumbnails to try and determine what the video is about and some viewers are legitimately blind. Which is a huge middle finger from LTT and all creators alike. Good luck using Youtube with an assistant narrating the video titles as it's a pure shit show. Screw ADA compliance am I right?

It isn't though? Any equipment can be used, sold, re-used, etc as long as it is taken care of. When you essentially destroy the product in any of the assembly or disassembly steps it is no longer usable as intended.

My guess is they somehow have multiple sets and use same listing to sell whatever they have in stock. Doesn't seem to be an "online marketplace" neither, but rather a specific shop/company. Their About page mentions "The EMC Shop is a stocking distributor of testing equipment".

Though this line in the description made me laugh. "mint condition" - I'd expect to see this phrase on FB marketplace, etc not in official description of a product sold by an actual business on their very own website.
