Is this a good combo and are the beyerdynamics still good?

amplifier - Behringer HA400

headphones - Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 80 ohm

Honestly not as good for fps but better for basically everything else. Get a akg k371 or k361 the 80 ohm 770 kinda sucks for everything but gaming and studio monitoring due to its tuning. Very harsh for overall media consumption. And you don't need an amp for the akg's

It's a common misnomer that amps are only for volume, they provide quality as well.

However the dt770-80 is an excellent headphone.  I only got a couple hours on the pair I bought for a friend but it sold me on the beyer sound signature.

With that said, I really couldn't recommend the 770 over the nth-100 now that I have listened to both.  The 770 is an excellent headphone don't get me wrong, but I find myself with the rode nth-100 in hand and wanting to listen to that on my phone instead of a grand worth of other setup quite regularly.  Maybe it's the allure of them still being my newest headphones and the fact that I have to restrict my use of them because my mod mic anchor fell off of the rode so it's got the feeling that I haven't listened to it enough, but they can really make any source sound good and present everything in a full manor where only what should be produced is and nothing more.

*edit: I will say that my dt880-600 still provides something I haven't experienced anywhere else but that's for when I want to feel like I'm at a concert.  The nth-100 will hit it's stride at much lower volumes.

Because that's legit it, a high ohm headphone may sound better because of different drivers but with the 990 I couldn't hear a difference.

So could you recommend which ones to buy : k371, nth-100, dt 770 pro or any other headphones for around the 150$ price tag?

Dealers choice really, I like my k361bt, really enjoyed the dt 770 for the short time I had it, absolutely love my dt880-600 and adore my nth-100.  You honestly can't go wrong with any of them, each bring's something different to the table.

I tested headphones of varying difficulty to drive on different dac/amp combo's and compared them to my emotiva a-100 and the harder to drive the more difference I heard when properly powered vs underpowered.  There are obviously other factors such as dac and what not, but you can read it here if you'd like

*edit: what I haven't done is compare the same headphone with different drivers
