Anything that still functions properly should be reused, but for things that are broken what option is there other than attempting to recover some of the component parts through recycling? Sure it isn't as efficient as it could be, but an amount of it can be recovered and that is surely better than just putting it in the ground.

When a computer becomes so bad that people aren't willing to use the gas to pick it up for free, I'll recycle it at an e-waste depository near my house. Cell phones get sold or traded in and re-sold. Most of my computers have just been passed down through my family until it is no longer useful, and then either sold or given away to charity.

That's my question. What do you guys do with an old cellphone or a broken PC?

If it is not something i want to keep for nostalgia or for my "just in case crate" of things that i keep for tech jobs that are not main stream and i can not sell it i send it for recycling.

What we should do is box everything up and send it to Linus and laugh when he comes on the WAN show to rant about these boxes of crap he keeps getting from people.

A water-cooled mid-tier gaming PC.
