Is it time for an upgrade?

Hey guys,

 

I was thinking about this for a long time but I don't know what to do. I have a HP ProBook 4530s laptop (Intel Core i3 2330M; 4GB DDR3; 640 GB 5400 RPM HDD; AMD 6490M 1 GB) and I am thinking about saving some money to either upgrade to something better or to just buy some more RAM and maybe an SSD. I use my laptop for some light photo and video editing, watching movies and YouTube videos, just some general stuff. I am using Windows 7, but I don't want to switch to Windows 8 until the Update 1 comes out. Do you think that it's time for an upgrade (I am starting to notice that the screen is starting to becom pretty low res. 1366*768) What do you suggest? I am stuck.

If you do photo and video editing I would suggest getting something a little more up to date with maybe an nvidia card.

i would recommend windows 8 always and it has a lower system requirements to so it will  run better on your system and if you start to to photo and video editing then maybe it is time for a good desktop also

I would maybe upgrade the whole system, especially if your going to be rendering and editing.

Its cheaper to upgrade to SSD and adding 4gb of ram (if you have ram slots free) than getting new system. The screen is problem you can't do anything about other than getting real display. You can make that internal drive to act as external if you don't want to buy over 240gb ssd.
