@LinusTech, I'm not sure if this has been proposed before, but I think a great addition to every video would be the inclusion of a brief summary at the end. Take 15 seconds (probably a lot less) and say, "In summary...", and just summarize the topic of the video in a bullet point fashion. I think this would really benefit watchers who didn't necessarily understand the first time through. I know they can just watch the video again, but that's not exactly the most efficient method. Videos are starting to get a little longer too which can be difficult to find the specific spot in the video that wasn't u nderstood.

I know probably most people here already know about the topics and don't need a summary, but try to be in the shoes of someone who literally doesn't.

Just a thought; would love to hear yours.

kind of pointless.

the video is supposed to be a summary.

Yes, but I think there's room to summarize the very key points.

I agree with Jogostar. I feel that summarizing would be somewhat pointless due to the fact that most of the videos are very short.

I could see a summary on a video that is very long, but in this case it just doesn't make a whole lot of since.

This is just my opinion, for all I know I could be far off from what the majority wants.

15 seconds would be to long IMO, maybe 5 seconds of 1-2 really key points about the topic. Or more, depending on how fast linus can speak.

Back when Tech Quickie just started I could see a summary being pointless because the videos were extremely short, but today's are reaching into the 6 minute mark. I wouldn't think people want to skim through a video that's 6 minutes long to listen to a certain part they didn't quite understand the first time.

15 probably is for any video, but that was just a number that popped out first. Anywhere from 5-10 would be fine.

6 minutes is really quite short by today's standards. It seems that YouTube videos are getting longer and longer by the day.

Relatively speaking yes 6 minutes is short. Not all videos a educational though. Depending on the type of video, I don't care if it's 20 minutes.

I'm still definitely on the side of "those videos are meant to be a short summary". They're just meant to teach a basic understanding of a given technology, just enough to make a wiser buying decision than maybe one would have if they had not watched the video.

We all know the intention of videos. Not everyone watches them before buying something either.

I didn't say that everyone did? I also don't think a short summary at the end of the video would help either, as I think that when most people don't understand something in a video, they just pause and rewind a few seconds to listen to it again.

I know you didn't. I said WE, as in everyone on LTT.

You're just assuming at this point. They can easily just keep watching the video straight through as well. Whichever they do, at least there's a point in the video where all the key points are summed up to be read again instead of searching for specific places in the video.

Seems silly, perhaps tech quickies should be made even more short and concise - minute physics sort of feel

While informative they are still quite long

Depending on the type of video - you don't mind if a tech quickie is 20 minutes long?

Maybe some rapid fire bullets at the end of some of the longer quickies would add something "quick". I often find explanations of the same thing from more than one source or in more than one style complement each other by filling in blanks so *only for the onger ones*, maybe a good idea.

I doubt a TQ would ever be that long since they're not meant to be. I have no problem with 20 minute videos Linus uploads. That goes for any video on YT; if I'm interested in it, the longer the video the better personally. But the format for TQ is to be quick and informative, so that how it should stay.
