Have the MOBO specs for AM5 been released?

too early to tell, it's different every gen, down to specific models of motherboard.

asus sucked with z370 while gigabyte elite-master was the go to for z390

b450 and b550 was all msi for awhile (1 specific model)

then z490 gigabyte boards had interference/battery issues which should never happen while asus was best for x570 (1 specific model)

asrock has consistently sucked for the last couple of gens

Some boards are guaranteed to have tracing issues, avoid those, and hope for motherboards with 2 ram slots. Assume that none of the motherboards will actually have warranty past the 30days from amazon

we'll see what happens with x670e, watch buildzoid's reviews

You know, that one brand in which you can trust the MOBO isn't likely to fail or something, which brand is it? 😀

It's kinda hard to say all boards for one specific brand are the definite best since all brands have terrible boards. What cpu are you planning to use and what's your budget?

Doesn't exist.

There's only four mainstream motherboard brands and if you look you can find someone who swears by each one and someone who refuses to buy each one under any circumstances.

As with most PC parts, relying on brand names as a decision making heuristic is not productive and at best leads to a false sense of security.

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.

Nowadays I'd say that most brands are similar reliability.  15 years ago you'd have certain brands known for using cheaper components.

MSI sucks for BIOS though IMO.  Asus is probably top in terms of layout and shit.

If it's for things that isn't even released yet & a new architecture too, best is ...... wait for reviews 😛

So, you are looking at a core component in a really unhelpful way. The company that makes the motherboard is irrelevant, and in a huge way. A LOT of people probably swear by ASUS, for example, but I personally refuse to ever use any of their motherboards.

What you SHOULD be asking is "Which motherboard MODELS have the highest quality components, best software support, and have the best Warranty?"

That said, there ARE motherboard manufacturers that, excepting certain models, can be just avoided. Example, don't get a low-budget ASRock board and stuff a 5950X in it.

Some of it is probably what you get used to. I tend to lean towards Gigabyte and MSI boards. So I'm used to those BIOS. I avoid Asus stuff like the plague. So I'm not used to their BIOS layout. It drives me nuts, I'm always searching for things.
