A small mobile device that is battery powered and has limited cooling capacity is not going to outperform current gen desktop hardware, even if it is low end hardware. Just think about the size difference. The Steam Deck is at best the same size as the GPU. If you could put that much performance in such a small device, wouldn't you put equal power into the GPU?

The text in your screenshot isn't really readable. Whether you need to update your mobo depends on which one you have right now.

600 series Intel boards are out of the box 12th gen compatible (there are no other gen boards compatible with 12th gen anyway), it's talking about a BIOS update for 13th gen
