27" 1440p LG monitor - which one?

Hello,

 

I'm looking for a new 1440p monitor to pair with my new 6700 XT and decided to go for LG for their good price/performance. However, when looking at rtings.com for review I noticed there is a ton of very similar models with wildly different score and it makes little sense (for example replacement monitor has worse score than old one etc?).

 

So can I assume newest version would be best and if so, which would that be? I can see plenty of monitors but all have slightly different name and I have no idea which is which. LG site is not much of use either.

I'd recommend 27GP850

Why? Why not 27GL880 or 27GN830 or ... well, there are hundreds and I would like to know the difference before I make a decision 🙂

One important aspect is price.

And 27GP850 is most highly rated for gaming between all the other models.

 

Also I have one, and really can't complain about anything.

Price is +/- 200 eur on all of these which is a big difference and I can't figure out why one is pricier than other.
Also based on rtings 27GP850 is definitely not the best.

GP is latest model in the same range series and every year it is improving.

 

For LG, 27GP850 is the best to go. It is not the best but it is the best offer from LG in 27" and 1440p.

27gp850 is the best one LG has to offer in terms of image quality and response time, i would not get the older models if it was close to the same price.

So middle letters are generation? Finaly some explanation 🙂 do you maybe also know what AED is? I can get GP but it is 27GP850-B.AED with no explanation what .AED means.

Yup correct middle letter is generation. I not sure what is AED meaning but that not important.
