Finger print or Face only

BurstHearts

Are there any phones where you can set to be unlocked ONLY with the fingerprint? Something you can turn of using pin, passwords and the such.

I know it sounds like a dumb question. But when you search online the results are very bad and not conclusive.

In android you *must* use a pin/pass to get back into the phone after reboot to ensure you are at least conscious while entering phone

And periodically, they will require a pin or password for security reasons, and disable the face and fingerprint scanner

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

This is the same on iOS. After sitting for a day or two, or rebooting the phone, you have to re-verify with the password before Face/TouchID will function. You can also hold down the power and volume up buttons to manually disable biometric auth (if you're worried about someone trying to force you to unlock with face/fingerprint).

iOS requires Pin- doesn't matter if you have TouchID or FaceID.

Good thing too! My Fingerprint frequently gets distorted while working, and the phone won't pick it up, and my Dad's FaceID when he shaves his beard.

Really?
First of why is it so hard for people to just say it's impossible? I have been to forums, so it's not like they need to keep me on the page.

Second that is really stupid. Is there a phone that i at least can make data go bye bye if the password is wrong too many times?

I am not judging people from here. I was speaking about people about other forums when i searched online instead of making my own post. People where all, try this, try that. But never a "There's no phone you can do that." or at least "I believe any phone does that.". I was all meaningless speculation that never gave an answer just made me more confused about the truth.

People here did manage to be clear and say something conclusive.

I'll just give the straight answer which is NO

And there nothing anyone here can do to change that

Although on Android, the mandatory unlock method can be a pin or pattern

From an absolute security standpoint, having only pin unlock is the best. No one can make you unlock it while unconscious or under influence

Thanks for the reply.
Considering my social life. The only thing i really need to be careful is thiefs bruteforcing my password. I don't go out drinking or something. So unless a thief grabs my phone with enough time to brute force my password it's very unlikelly i will get people seeing what they shouldn't.

I am not a dumbass that uses a predictable password. But still, for me the risk of an influence use of the fingerprint is lower than thief trying to brute force my password/pin
