Am I missing something here? I read the listing about 8 times and didn't see any red flags other then the price. I ordered one, just in case it disappears, I can always return it if its bunk, I suppose. Fingers crossed.

Its a gamble, for sure, but Amazon is pretty good about handling disputes, in my experience. So if its not as described, worse case, I get my money back.

maybe, but if they are trying at all, it might not be impossible to be scammed. either way, it's not worth the waste of time for something that is 100% a scam.

People longing for cheaper Nvidia GPU's when it's pointed out to them they can get more performance for their money by buying AMD:

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.

DON'T TELL THEM!!! The reason why the AMD prices are so good is because nVidia fanboys are spreading their disease!

  • 4 weeks later...

I highly doubt this will surprise anyone, but the card never arrived.

I contacted amazon customer service and they gave me a full refund.

So the question remains, what is the end game for this seller? Do they take the money and run, leaving amazon to refund money that the seller now has? From my perspective, I'm not out anything but a couple minutes of purchasing time customer service time.

No idea the end game really.

But with Ethereum finally going proof of stake, I'd expect that the used market is about to get flooded with cards and a $400 3080 won't be out of the norm. New stock would then drop in price as well.
