Yuuki.go

Hey everyone
First of all, thanks for taking ur time, I work as a database administrator and web developer, I worked with MacOs environment for the last 5 years, but now because of my current job and also some bad experiences, I want to switch to Windows. Mainly what I do is monitoring, coding and ligth gaming, I chose these stuff in pcpartpicker, if you have any remark or advice, it will be highly appreciated.

Some things need to be changed

- Full ATX sized board, MSI B660-A rather than P

- Airflow version of the H510 case (which I dislike anyway, a Phantkes P360 or LL Liancool is waaaay better, but some love it...)

- DO NOT BUY that crappy Gigabyte PSU for $250 !!!! It should cost $60 and ain't even worth it, they are the only PSU in existence that explodes !!! 😮

- a 7200rpm HDD will be better, or a 2TB SATA SSD even more, but more expensive...

- The 6600 is say the bottom line for decent 1080p gaming nowadays, but you should get a better GPU for more "comfortable" gaming - or for 1440p

That's kind, thanks !

If you're willing to spend up to C$1800 you could get a much better gaming rig, at the price of a limited loss of CPU horsepower - depends on what you do, but a 12600K still gets 18K in Cinebench 23 all cores to 21K on a 12700, that's only a 15% loss, and it has better single core clock and perf

And really drop HDD unless you need several TB of data (but then get a 12TB+ drive or a NAS..)

If it were for me i'd get that :

Thank you very much for your answers, I see that you include an i5 the kf version, I really don't know much about overclocking, that's why I had opted for the F version of an i7, there is really a big difference of i5-12600KF vs i7-12700F if not I plan to overclock?

And for the graphics card, I'm not really a very expert gamer, what I usually play is monster hunter, age of empires, halo, call of duty, doom eternal, very casually...I

In this case it would be better to go for an RX 6700 or an RTX 3060, since they have the same price and amount of vram

Make sure to use the quote button so we can see your responses.

If you don't plan to overclock, an i7-12700F is a better choice than a 12600K, and you can get a less expensive H670 or B660 motherboard

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

12600K has 6P + 4E cores, to 12700 8+4 , and cost less

You don't "have to" overclock it, and would have to use a more expensive Z690 board, but can do it a bit even on a B660

re GPU the 6700 is faster on rasterization than the 3060 but isn't good at RT and don't have DLSS

Its just a 70cad saving, if you wanna get a 12700f if you can afford it then sure

Also cpu overclock is dead so dont reccomend wasting money on a z690 unless theres a decent one for dirt cheap, ram oc > cpu oc

If you play more gpu intensive games and/or high res then a 6800xt will help get you more fps
