pretty sure linus has addressed this exact thing somewhat recently.

a bunch of paraphrasing and "i vaguely recall below this line..

- "we would need a whole another anthony for that, and there is only one anthony"

- youtube has PLENTY of creators in that space.

Yeah I totally get that and it's a very good suggestion. I just like the way LTT do things 🙂

Do you mean ‘public-friendly’ bigger budget videos, and not something that looks like a single take powerpoint?

Edit:

FYI, it doesn’t mean that a random youtuber you’ll support will suddenly become better. Some creators are stagnant.

Their stated reason for making a separate Mac channel was just so they could bypass Apple's blacklist and get free hardware. Otherwise they have no desire to make separate channels for every OS.

No it was to make apple content and reviews that were separate from the main channel. They still have to buy all the apple hardware. It’s still owned by LMG and minus continues to spew essentially lies about apple.

By "public friendly" bigger budget videos that also means content which is more entertainment driven than anything informative or helpful to most of the viewers, or sponsored ads for products that most viewers don't care about.  I'd rather watch someone that makes their videos with paint and powerpoint as long as the content is still good.

Pretty sure the idea of an Apple Channel was having a channel with an unique perspective and absorb the cost of purchasing apple products by having more uses for it. As well as a slightly more mainstream view

Apple don't give out free hardware ever, they send out loner parts but they require these to be returned they absolute never send out free hardware for you to keep regales of how you are in the media.

Also MAC address is not going to make Apple want to send out free hardware the main issue apples PR teams will have with LTT Group is not what they say about Apple but rather wha they say in teh background "my dick is bigger than your dick" and other "gamer bros" jokes that make it very difficult for anyone in Apple PR to suggest LLT or any LTT subsidiary channel since that PR person knows they will need to explain to thier boss why the video containing the Mac/iPhone etc they send (for a short time) to LTT is being used in a video full of misogynistic jokes.

If Linus wants brands like apple (that care about their image more than views on YT) they need to address the very toxic blatantly sexist  /discriminatory  jokes/banter they continue to product (not as bad as it was years ago but still present).

Very strong words - not sure what content you’ve watched. I would not describe it as anything more than adolescent-level humour.

yes but they are grown men broadcasting a public image of `adolescent gamer bro humour` as if it is something that is a good things, when this culture of `gamer bro` comes with a load of attached discriminatory behaviour to others. These jokes at least appear to be scripted as well not just add-libs.

It is one thing having a channel includes broadcasts this (clearly intentional) but then complying that some brands do not want to work with them while at the same time on WAN show Linus admits that its completely ok for brands to not want to work with others due to the content style.

These days it is no were as extreme as it used to be, clearly some of the new writers are not jumping up and down to right dick size jokes, but it is still there and not just in live un-scripted content either.

I don't see this making sense. While I won't say there is no overlap between the linux community and LTT, because there is, the content that Linux requires is not the type of content LTT makes. I mean it's not like LTT is making a ton of videos about Windows. I can't even remember the last one about that.

Now obviously they could make something very different, but would you really bother with that, when you need to hire a whole team specifically for a Linux channel.

Afaik, the 'gamer bro' culture is nothing more than a trash talk at an elevated level due to being somewhat anonymous and hiding behind the username.

Linus seems to have blabbermouthing tendencies.

I feel that I'm missing something.

No I don't want to see a guide on how to break Linux by Linus.
