So is finally time! (Almost)
I got 8k US dollars to invest in a gaming rig that MUST last 5 years, so I’m wondering if the most wise idea would be to buy at day one a SLI of 2 RTX 4090 or a single RTX 4090 that will be eventually upgraded to a single RTX 5090 after 3 years.

About possible bottleneck don’t you worry friends I’ll buy the i9 13xxx

6400mhz ram

and 8gbs SSD Mx

so my question is basically just about graphic cards.

SLI is dead beyond benchmarking. Single card > SLI any day all day

Mhhhh interesting so a single 4090 and then I wait till the 5090 right?

Are you sure that a SLI of 4090 won’t be able to compete against a 5090?
e mean a SLI of 2080 I guess is slightly better than a single 3090 or nah?

You get a 3090 ti now and replace it with a 4090, then a 4090 ti and then a 5090.

That's my plan.

You were about to spend that amount of money on such high end parts being that uninformed? The state of SLI has been a well known thing for quite a while now. Something isn't adding up.

I mean, SLI benchmarks are still a thing, pointless beyond just bragging rights, but a thing nonetheless.  Maybe it's all about the bling. I think JayzTwoCents had an SLI build even after SLI was basically pointless. like 30" rims on a car - usefull? Hell no. Does it look cool? maybe (to others. For me it's another hell no).

Buy a $4K system. Bank or invest the remaining 4K. In a couple of years, use the $4K with interest to buy a new, better, faster gaming system. 🙂

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
