CPU is a bit of a showstopper, but I'd go for it.

But only if you can't wait for the RTX 4070.  (2-3 months)

"The RTX 4070 hasn’t got a price tag yet, but it should cost less than Nvidia’s RTX 4080 and RTX 4090 graphics cards."

Gotta love this hard hitting reporting from PCGamesN, I mean wow. Such reporting.

I'd also venture to guess about $500-600 USD, my guess is November

Yet when it arrives it'll be a gamechanger, even at $600€.

Make sure you have a proper 1200 watt psu if you go for any mid range/high end 4000 series card and good air conditioning as it turns your room into a sauna while gaming.

I'm up to confirming that a good 850W would be enough for 4070 and 12600K.

TDP 300W is not absurd.  RTX 3070 has a TDP of 220W and mine does not reportedly consume ovber 180W,

https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/geforce-rtx-4070.c3890#:~:text=Being a dual-slot card,rated at 300 W maximum.

So no point to be overreacting.

I just picked up a 6700 XT and do not regret (Ebay used prices are great, bid away dont just buy now), paired with an R7 1700 (literally just ordered a 5600X though for it bwuahahaha) and its not struggling with any games so far at 1440p ultra that I play.

I also run that all on a 750w PSU no problem (same PSU that was pushing an R9 Fury X which has higher TDP)

I think its a good setup OP.

if you can run 3700x and 3080 (3090 has tdp of 320w) with a decent 650w psu just fine, yo ucan definetly run 4070 with the 650w.

What resolution are you planning on playing at?

6700XT is a 1440p GPU, at most.

Im not sure if i understand the question.....

The monitor setting  (on windows) shows 3440x1440 and i usually have 200% zoom set using windows. When i game (Warzone) i think is still 3440x1440. I do set it to a lower in game resolution and i use AMD software to upscale. Should i be doing something different for better performance???

When I saw you had a 34” monitor, I had to ask, as the 6700XT reviews well typically for 1440p on standard wide screen monitors (2560x1440 @ 27”).

Since you have a 3440x1440 monitor, if you hope to play on high or above settings, you’ll need to reduce the resolution in game for better frames.

I think you should be ok then.

By the way, the RTX 4070 is delayed couple of months, so I'd go with a videocard that is available now.

Is the Gigabyte Radeon RX 6700 XT 12 GB EAGLE a good option too instead of the MECH?

Don’t know about those two. Personally had a bad experience with Gigabyte in the past, so would rather avoid them, but that’s just me.

Sapphire & Powercolor are two frequently praised brands. If they’re similar in price, I’d veer that way.

The msi mech dosent have that good of a cooling solution. If they're  similarly priced I'd get the eagle instead.
