I find it amusing that a thread about the pronunciation of Nvidia didn't look up what the word actually means. It comes from the Latin word Invidia (which hints at its pronunciation, though "v" in Latin would actually be a "u", so it'd be Inuidia), which means envy. That's also why their company color is green, since that's the color of envy.
