Is RTX 3060ti worth it for 1440p/144hz or should i buy 1080p?

Klik

Of course i would use 144hz just for CSGO and in other games i would like to stay at 60fps med/high settings. I would pair RTX 3060ti with i5 12400f.

I've heard that 1440p is the way to go with modern GPU because of DLSS, is that true?

I'm planning to upgrade in late 2024 so i guess i need my build to last for 2 years..

E-sports games will do fine, will struggle at 2022 releases like Elden Ring, Ultra at 1440p. In that case a 3070ti would be better but in fact a 6700XT would be better than even that.

Not the reasoning. 1440P 144Hz 27" is basically the sweet spot for monitors in basically every aspect. 27" is a good balance of large enough you can see everything and be immersed in your game but not so big you can't fit it on your desk and are having to constantly turn your head. The DPI is high enough that you can't spot pixels without looking for them, but not high enough that Windows scaling will get in your way. They're not terribly intensive for a GPU to drive, where most GPUs in the mid range can power a lot of games at that resolution at high settings. Plus they're not really that expensive for a really good panel (maybe 10% more than a similar 1080P panel).

DLSS is just a technology that makes running at higher resolutions with lower end cards easier. For most games at high settings I would doubt that you will need to take advantage of DLSS at 1440P, especially if you only plan to keep the card for 2 years.

What is your budget?
