$25 USD is a pretty common price on /r/softwareswap, I think they usually go for around $80-100 USD on sites such as Amazon. If you buy on reddit from a trusted seller, the chance of a scam happening is very slim.

Does anyone know the cheapest place to buy a windows 8 product key or an upgrade key from windows 7, thanks. 

System: 5930K, MSI X99 SLI PLUS, GTX 780Ti (SLI),  840 EVO, Fractal R4 (Full Custom Loop)  (IP)
