Getting no signal, when 24pin is pressed down some lights turn on so maybe it's something to do with that?

RapidFireShotgun

Im getting no signal,I tried everything I could to fix it but nothing worked. But now I realized when I push down on my 24pin connector in a very specific way some lights turn on and then of then my pc shuts down and turn back on.

When I googled a video of my mb it showed the light turn on and back of but the pc then just worked normally do idk why mine is doing this.

It's been some months now.

Here are my specs: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/8MPGk9

If you have to force the connector in for the board to get power I would definitely check to make sure that it's in the right orientation.

Maybe the extra 4-pin on the end of the 24-pin connector got flipped around?

What exactly are you applying pressure to? The connector into the slot? Pinching wires together?

Also like mentioned above: knowing the type of motherboard helps.

Edit:

Also the red lights near the bottom of the motherboard never power off. Is that light on the motherboard?

I added my mb, I just take where the cables are all bundeled and push down

The lights are at the top right of my mb next to my 24 pin

Stop doing that. Just short the power switch pins to turn the board on when it is outside a case.

Remove the video card, plug your monitor into the iGPU.

That's what I do to turn it on and I've already tried that.

I'm referring to the red lights below the CPU socket. I'm realizing now that it's probably lighting from the GPU.

Is it not losing power with the rest of the system?

I'd definitely remove the connectors and do a thorough visual inspection on both sides at this point.

Have you tried a different power supply and/or motherboard if available?

It helps to be very specific about what you've already tried, and what you do. So avoid using the words "it" or "that".

I do have another power supply I could try but not a mb since I just replaced my motherboard with this one.

And where exactly do I need to do a visual inspection?

I'm not sure if in the video the lights faded on the GPU with the system powering off. I thought the GPU still had power after the mobo lost power.

Look at the pins in the 24-pin connector on the MB side and on the PSU cable.

Also try the other power supply. If the issue occurs in exactly the same way, then the problem is most likely the MB.

Just tried another PSU I got the same problem but then I saw that i didn't need to push on the cables but on the top side of the connector.

So maybe a connection on top is broken or something.

I'm hoping it can be fixed without a new mb.

Could be that the board was bent at some point and could have loosened the connector from the MB or broken one of the traces in the MB. The latter is worse.

Look at the back of the 24-pin connector on the Mb and see if all the pins are in proper order.

At this point it's best to RMA the board.

The motherboard is old so I won't be able to RMA it and I don't have to push It on top of the connector but I can do it anywhere on the connector.

I can't say anything else with certainty without having the board in-hand.

You'll have to figure out if it's a broken trace or hopefully just a broken receptacle pin in the 24-pin connector on the MB.

Best of luck.
