The need to reheat?

Guest

I don't really get it....

Why do people NEED their food to be warm.

Okay, some things I can understand you need to reheat, like fries.

But pasta, or rice?!

It's perfectly edible if it isn't reheated. (not necessarily cold)

I don't know, just seems like a time waste to me for very minimal gain.

I won't eat food that's been re-heated. Fresh or not at all is my motto.

Or you can do that. :P But that's also a waste of food imo. :P

Well it doesn't have to be cold really. Could be in the microwave or something which keeps it at an okay temp. :)

If your food remains on your plate for long enough to get cold.. You're not doing it right

then what does "reheating" imply? I always put stuff in a microwave for like a minute if I am eating leftovers from a fridge, but if its stuff thats just been cooked and has to wait around I leave it in the oven (but turn off).

I don't waste any food. In my family I'm the only one like that so my brother usually eats everything else.

Texture and flavor change with temperatures, and different plates get enjoyed different if they are warm or not. Also temperature on food can also help you get warm (nice if you live on a cold region).

No, not using the microwave. Keeping it in there. Keeping leftovers in the microwave. Keeps it at an okay temp.

Most of the "Taste" is actually done with your nose. Warm food smells better then cold food, therefore it tastes better also.

well if you are suggesting people keep food in their microwaves as they do with fridges for a day or even a few hours, there's a problem, and Its called bacteria.

Because England is cold so warm food feels good :)

If I am having like curry and rice im not exactly going to sit there and eat it all cold

same with pasta, its all hot and comforting and I can put parmesan cheese shavings on top and let it all melt, nom
