Can anyone identify this RTX 3080? Is the cooler sufficient?

Go to solution Solved by da na,

Dell OEM. They're not bad.

So I found this RTX 3080, not saying where, or for how much.

Looks like it has been taken out a OEM prebuild of some sort, looks kinda like dell?

Would it be a good idea to get that instead of a real RTX 3080, if it works well? I get that it is a really high risk, really high reward scenario, but I can get that for about the price of RTX 3060.

The seller says it is FHR, so has to be an older 10gb model.

Oh yeah, I remember that the Dell 3090 had the same cooler and was really good.

Now I just need to figure out if I can trust the person, Facebook marketplace is the wildest west, and even if I succesfully bought something from them before, doesn't mean that they will actually send me the item this time. Really hard situation.... I could theoretically upgrade from 1080ti to 3080 for less than free.

Ask them for evidence it works. Ask for a video of the card plugged in somewhere and working in a benchmark.

If they refuse, it's best to pass the offer up.

If its too good to be true it probably is. If its Facebook marketplace then they must be somewhat local to you, I suggest going in person

Yeah if somewhat local means up in the mountains with absolutely no public transport options and 150km away, so not biking there lol.

They also slapped that same triple slot cooler on higher wattage 3090, and seems actually fine:

forgot I saw that one too. although a little bit weird to see it "work" with other more dense or more mass coolers perform maybe worse?
