It’s for lmg’s inventory tracking. It’s so they know if a product is theirs, what it is, etc

I could use some help with this!

please, pm me if you would like to contribute to my gpu bios database (includes overclocking bios, stock bios, and upgrades to gpus via modding)

I think those are LMG's asset tags for inventory tracking. You can see them on the stuff Linus alleges is from the office during the Intel tech upgrade videos.

I sold my soul for ProSupport.

So an LMG staffer unboxes it, applies the sticker, then reboxes it to be unboxed again?

I'm assuming it stays boxed until they will use it. In some cases they might test it beforehand though, just so they are sure they won't set up everything,  write a script etc only to find out the product doesn't work.

LMG has logistics employees whose job I rpesume would include applying the sticker to the box and the product and then putting the product back in the box for them to be used in the videos. Given that we see the stickers on motherboards they use as well.

I do wonder does anyone know what inventory tracking software and hardware they use to make the stickers?

Makes sense because each piece of equipment should be tracked the moment it enters the building. So enter it into the Asset Management system, stick on the associated asset tag, then whoever needs it for their video can sign it out.

Otherwise you'll have situations where equipment just mysteriously goes missing before anyone else knows about it. And I bet that has happened to them before considering how little control there was over inventory.

Most likely. It's also likely that they test the items before they ever make it to the video, since having an item DOA wouldn't make for great content.

Unsure of their sticker making process but they’ve mentioned on WAN Show quite a few times that Luke and the Floatplane staff built a custom inventory system (or are working on it?)
