Didn't know FSR 2.0 was already on its way. I might just stick with AMD for my next GPU upgrade if performance stays comparible to Nvidia's offerings.

AMD has done a good job in recent years with their software.

"Just enable Resizable Bar"
>Fails to mention this ONLY works with AMD GPUs or only on nvidia 30 series GPUs
If you enable Resizable Bar with a RTX 20 or earlier GPU you don't get a post and need to clear your CMOS*

*At least that's what I experienced, not sure if it's since changed but important notes imo.

Edit:

Triple checked, Resizable Bar is NOT supported on any NVIDIA GPU other than 30 series so be careful

My bios settings menu looks similar to the videos bios, if i find that SAM setting thing, would it do anything for me and my Nvidia gpu, or would my i7 7700k and 16gb of RAM see no benefit?

You need a 10th or 11th gen Intel CPU and a RTX 30 series GPU for nvidia (or AMD RX 6000 series or up)

It's only supported on 30 series GPUs that have the BIOS update that enables it (which at this point is all of them tbf). I'd love to give it a try with my 2080 Ti but there's a greater chance of me marrying Jennifer Lopez than nvidia releasing a experimental/beta BIOS to play around with.

Yah, it would have bee nice if they at least mentioned that somewhere in the video to even just check compatibility before enabling stuff in your BIOS (or I completely missed it) because last time I tried to do this with my 20 series card I had to clear CMOS by removing the battery to get the system to post again.

They prefaced that entire segment with "If you have an AMD GPU and CPU, go ahead and enable Smart Access Memory". It would be counter productive to spend time talking about a competitor's product in this sponsored video because it doesn't help AMD's products look any better.

So guys, I'm here because I tried to activate Resizable Bar in my BIOS. I have an AMD GPU (Radeon RX570 Series) (you can see on my profile, I think? I don't post here often 😅), but I still didn't find it. I found the PCI Subsystem Settings and enabled Above 4G Decoding, but no option for Resize Bar popped up. Anyone know if my GPU is just too old? (Also, should I deactivate Above 4G Decoding again? Like I don't actually know if it's good for me to have it on or not.)

Look, I get it. A single button press that adds performance surely is great but it doesn't do shit on cards/games that don't support it and as with FSR, it couldn't even do it without making some sacrifices.

If AMD gpu owners would pick AMD gpus than going Nvidia to save money, surely they'd be willing to actually research undervolting their cards. Honestly it works even more wonders, I previously had a Vega 56, notoriously runs really hot out of the box that it made a decent space heater during the winter. Spent a couple hours to undervolt it, even had room for some overclock, it performed at least 15% better, drawing 10% less power, and runs few degrees cooler it doesn't toast the CPU anymore. Really just invest like an hour or two with playing around with the settings and you're already better off than stock without making any compromises.

If you found my answer to your post helpful, be sure to react or mark it as solution 😄
