I'm going out on a limb and voting Seiki.  Their cheap tv's got people excited about 4k displays, really driving interest in "that whole 4k thing."

But if its based on display quality, I'd go ASUS.

2500k | Z68-UD3H-B3 | GTX 570 Classified + Accelero Xtreme III | MX 200 250GB + Seagate 500GB | R4 | Seasonic 660W Plattinum | 8GB G Skill | Acer K272HUL + 2 x Dell P2417H, Rosewill dual mount, HP 22bw | Mackie CR3, ATH-M50X | DAS Keyboard | Mobile: X1 Carbon, Nexus 6P, LG G3, Samsung S5, Nexus 7 (2013)

There arent any good 4K displays that I would consider buying at the moment. So none.

Yeah, agreed. Personally I see no reason to go with a 4K display at all. I think 2.5K is enough for most people. I think owning a 4K is display is just for bragging rights, like "Look at me, I have a 4K display, I'm awesome aren't I?". I think that 4K displays should just be for TVs and TVs only. But that's just my opinion. :D

Just remember guys, most of those cheap 4K displays are using crappy TN panels. That pretty much makes a 4K display pointless to me. At least a 4K VA display would've been a worthy cheaper option in my opinion despite VA display technologies various flaws.

This. Seiki is driving cheap 4K. Thats what 4K needs. Mass consumption by people who aren't spec whores.

It needs 4K content. It wont become cheap until it there is a demand for it. Why would there be a demand without any content?

It will take 3 - 5 years for 4K to become popular.

Seems like Asus is going to win this, not too surprised though lol Imo the Dell 4K looks really promising. Seiki gets a thumbs up for being a TV.

Wait.. which 4K are we talking about?

The Dell UP2414Q is an IPS panel, 60Hz, fully adjustable stand, solid monitor. That one is the crown.

The Dell UP2414Q is the best one to date in my opinion.  Still waiting for monitors with those updated DP input controllers though...

I'd like to point out that ASUS doesn't really have their own 4K monitor.  The only one they have (the 31.5" one) is a rebranded Sharp monitor with the ASUS logo stuck onto it.  Although on second thought I do think they announced another one with a 28" TN panel like the others that have come out recently, but it's hard to judge if it's the best 4K around or not without it actually being released yet.

Well the Dell is the only IPS panel equipped 4K display that I know of. I think if it would be better if manufacturers don't want to put IPS panels in their cheaper 4K displays then they should at least use VA panels because you would at least get better viewing angles, better, deeper colours and obviously great contrast. What's your thoughts about this mate?

since when did reality matter?

don't you remember how people couldn't tell the difference between HD and 1080p?

Are you forgetting how HDTVs became popular?

They became cheap. People were buying 720/1080i/1080p TVs LONG BEFORE there was ever any Blu-Ray players or HD streaming.

People don't care about content. They just want the newest tech that appears to be better even if it isn't that much better.
