Is it worth it to upgrade yet ?

Will i notice and is it worth upgrading right now ?

Usage : 80% gaming / 20% movies/tv

Current specs : I7 8700k , 32gb 3000 lpx vengance ram , Msi gaming m5 z370 , Evga 2080 ti ftw3 ultra , w11 pro .

I saw a sale w/ i7 12700k , gigabyte z690 aorus elite ax ddr4 for less than 500 dollars.

Thanks

Edit ; i may have to skip to sale because of mb's lack of correct usb ports but question remains just with a different z690

8700k , 32gb ram , 2080 ti ftw3 ultra , msi gaming m5 , 7.1 kilpsch rp series , denon srh750 , sony 65x900f, 27tb's hdd's+ssd's , cooler master h500p modded case

What resolution do you run your games at?  I upgraded from a 9900k to a 12900k and my fps did improve but not by anything I notice per say in game other than checking it.

But I also do work on the computer and compiling code is much faster in the new chip. It really depends on what you are using it for and how.

It depends on the game but mostly ultra settings on 2560×1440@60hz but some games 4k as long as they stay close to 55-60 fps

I bought an Inantek PCIe USB card with 3As and 2Cs, 20GBps split between each 3A / 1C for $70. I wouldn't worry about how many USBs the board has, just saying.

I think you're fine with what you have now. Do you feel like you need more performance? That's generally a good telltale sign.

If you think that motherboard is lacking of USB ports, I don't think you'll really find a board that suits you. It has a lot compared to most.

I would agree with a previous reply. At those resolutions you aren't going to notice an improvement. Unless there is something else you are doing, I wouldn't upgrade right now. At least wait till ddr5 prices come down to something reasonable and PCI-E 5 is out for storage. Till then, I don't think it would be worth it for you. Just IMHO.
