GDDR6 VS. GDDR6X

Broeng

Hello!

I was looking for an upgrade for my 1080 and stumbled upon two different 3080 variants

ASUS GeForce RTX 3080 12GB TUF OC and ASUS GeForce RTX 3080 TUF Gaming OC V2

I noticed a difference in memory between the two. One with 12gb of gddr6 and the other with 10gb of gddr6x.

That made me wonder: Which one should i go for? Is the 2gb more worth it or should i go with the faster gddr6x?

Sincerely

Both have G6x, but the extra 2gb is not worth the cost

I could use some help with this!

please, pm me if you would like to contribute to my gpu bios database (includes overclocking bios, stock bios, and upgrades to gpus via modding)

The 3080 12GB is just an improved version, the 10GB is usually cheaper and if you're paying more than $100 extra for the 12GB version it's not worth it. Recent pricing has the 12GB version pretty close to the 3080 TI, if not even more expensive. At that point it's definitely not worth it.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B
