What is the source of your confusion? This is like asking what's the difference between the 3070 and 3080.

Some big differences...

• 6500 XT has few GPU cores, shader cores
• If you remove the GPU cooler, you can see the 6500 XT is basically the Laptop GPU fitted onto a Desktop graphics card form
• Even though the 6500 XT uses a PCI-E X16 slot, only X4 of those X16 lanes are actually hooked up
• 6500 XT does not have H2.64 encoder, so you cannot stream / record through it

 

As for performance, it is slower than the 5500 XT, and closer to the 5300 (OEM only part).
If you can get a 6600 XT, I would get that instead.... IMO

Just get a 1660 instead of the 6500 xt. 6600xt is better hands down.
