Videostream Safe to Use?

I've found this website getvideostream.com to stream my movies on a TV, but Wikipedia says that is "was" an app and so is this fake? Or is the app still active and legit?

Lots of pirating sites (that are i think not allowed to be directly discussed here) get replaced by fakes that just infect peoples computers with all kinds of crap.

Im sure no copyright holder wishes this on anybody.

I have used it recently, and it works mostly fine, but I have to restart casting for each episode of a show for it to work properly.

Search for UPNP or DLNA media servers  - they're applications which can run on your computer and stream your content to your TV or phones etc

For example : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_UPnP_AV_media_servers

 

I've used Universal Media Server from that list and it worked fine : https://www.universalmediaserver.com/download/

 

I've also used Serviio which may be even easier to use : https://serviio.org/

If it's getvideo stream then don't do it unless you want your account stole. You are basically visiting piracy sites here with or without you knowing. If they ask for a login be 100000% sure that your credentials will be stolen and sold, any account that uses that info compromised and you being used to spread the problems further.

The software/app seems to be for streaming local video files to Chromecast. So in that sense, your notion of piracy lacks reason.

 

Then again, English is very much broken on that site.

There should be no need for such. If you aren't picky with your browsers, using Chrome is the easiest way.

So, I used it on PC, it didn't ask for any credentials there at least.

It didnt get flagged by bitdefender either, and I cant find any credible info of it being a scam either
