Brick and mortar game stores

Hey everyone, I hope I'm in the correct forum. I would like to ask the users here and the LLT team what their thoughts are on the future of brick and mortar game retail stores? I'm not talking about the big players like Gamestop, but the small mom and pop shops. The reason I am asking is I have a opportunity to open a small retail game store, but I'm hesitant with everything moving towards digital downloads. I myself still enjoy having a physical game disc or cartridge when it comes to gaming. Please share your thoughts.

Personally I wouldn't purchase physical media for digital content, especially since most titles nowadays need a connection anyways. 

 

I would be more so interested in a game/hobby store where it's like board games and what not. But that's also a tight space since you would be competing with Amazon among others. Or possibly even retro gaming stuff would be the other reason I would goto a brick and mortar.

sadly video game stores are going to become a thing of the past soon.

 

Now that consoles can come without a disc drive?  that means no physical games for those.  That's gonna become more common in future generations.
