Is WiFi A (1st gen WiFi) able to connect to WiFi AC or AX network?

Like the title suggest, can the 1st gen WiFi (A) connect to WiFi 5 (AC) or 6 (AX) hotspot?

Some AC router still have 802.11a support, but most Wifi 6 device pretty much drop it dead.

802.11A requires whole SSID to drop operating mode to A/Legacy. Hence why most of AC/AX networks won't be configured to allow it by default and just recommend running a separate 802.11N network for those devices.

I actually found an old laptop that support a, b and g WiFi. Thought it can utilised AC/AX networks since I only set my router to use 5GHz WiFi. Now I need to open 2.4GHz WiFi for it.
