Random un-closable application on my home screen

There is a black tab (I don't know what to call it) that recently appeared on my home screen on my PC. There is no option to close it, only use my cursor to change it's size. I have attached an image of it when I have make it a larger size for context. Does anyone know what it is and/or how to remove it? Thanks. Also sorry it is quite hard to see as I have a dark background.

Run Process Hacker or Process Explorer, they both have a button on the toolbar you can find a process with just clicking on it's window with.

If you can select it by clicking, you should be able to ALT-F4 close it.
