Best 1 Tb HDD

I was wondering if I would be good with like a Hitachi Ultrastar 1 Tb or would it be better to buy a WD black 1 Tb or Like a Barracuda.

The 1TB WD Black is really one of the best HDDs in the sub-$100 price range, I would recommend it.

wd black for speed as well as realiability and hitachi for reliability... :)...with wd u will be getting more random read/write rate compared to seagate and hitachi...

I used them in 3 builds. No problem whatsoever. Also WD Red's cost more and unless you go for a 3tb or higher WD Red you don't get the enclosure.

The Hitachi Ultrastar (as well as the Constellation as recommended

by @IdeaStormer) is an Enterprise drive, the Black, Green Red, Barracuda

are consumer drives. Just as a side note since nobody seems to have

mentioned that yet.

In all honesty though, under most circumstances, unless you have some

special requirements, a hard disk is a hard disk is a hard disk these

days, the differences for most normal usage scenarios are not that

large. Some are slightly faster, some are a bit more noisy, but all

in all, the differences under most reasonable usage scenarios will

not be very noticeable. There are of course certain situations where

certain specific drives make more sense than others for whatever

reason (say, building a 24/7 storage array, for example), but for

normal usage it doesn't matter that much.
