What do i need to upgrade

I can get above 400fps and i have a 3080ti and in games i get fps drops i cant hold 240fps on low setting im not sure what the bottle neck is. I was looking to upgrade ram from 16gb 3000mhz to 32 4200mhz i have an i7 9700k

if you do have that card. then try using something like MSI afterburner or other software that can help monitoring when playing.

If something is 100% load or lower, or if your temps are too high.

 

Not much by upgrading RAM, although a little more speed can help and GB if you are doing more with your system. the CPU might be fine but that is something you can see by monitoring.

There is no CPU that will guarantee over 240fps at all times. If you look at GN's 12900K review, even the 12900K and 5950X have 1% lows below that mark at 1080p in CSGO, which is a pretty easy game to run.

You really need to list your entire system spec if you're going to say you think you have a bottleneck.

You could try going to a new platform like 12th gen Intel. 3600mhz is about the highest I'd go for RAM speed.

I think you're too hopeful though. As @YoungBlade pointed out, it's rather unrealistic to expect 240hz at all times.

If that's what you want, maybe take up Minesweeper.
