My laptop is using a Igpu instead of a 3050ti

I received this laptop yesterday ASUS https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08XPC3WFQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_7NZP951ZC48HNVAGG9MZ

 

and I’ve found it using 40 percent of the igpu in games and only 4-10 percent of the 3050ti I’ve tried all of the nvidia control panel gpu stuff and even used ddu to wipe and reinstall the driver and it still barely uses the 3050ti and games perform like garbage. I need some help asap 17 fps is not ok for this type of system when the same laptop and game on YouTube reviews get 90-120

Yes and I checked under the graphics config and I don’t think it’s a setting

that's useless, the monitor is connected to the iGPU

and I tested charging and not charging same outcome

Check the Nvidia graphics settings, it might be that a windows update has set it to using the IGPU instead.

 

I know this from my old laptop, that it suddenly stopped using the GPU, and used the IGPU instead.

i agree first thing you should do is check in Nvidia control panel especially the games profiles that they're set to use "Nvidia gpu" 

 

 

 

find your game (you may need to "add" it first) then set it to "high performance Nvidia processor"

--> apply

What are they power settings on for on battery and while charging? If they're on a power savings mode it could be doing this.

power settings are on hight performance while charging and unplugged

and if that's really the case id just rma the laptop tbh, its not supposed to run on the igpu for games and that setting is precisely the place to control that.

Simple, Nvidia control panel and set it so the 3050 is the preferred option instead of the igpu. If it still is then go Inro graphics settings and set it there so it uses the GPU instead of igpu. 

And make sure physX config is set to the 3050 and not iGpU
