Did I fry my phone?

In my car I have a phone holder attached to a heat vent. Long story short: I blasted my heat on a cold day and my phone was infront of it. 
 

The phone became very hot to the touch and it still works. 
 

do you think there is any damage to it. Is there some way I can check if it is okay?

Most phones will auto shut off if the internals get to hot.

I would bet the most damage you would have received from this would be a battery issue but that would require extended heat and the phone would have shut off before then.

The phone didn’t shut off but there was one time where it wasn’t charging in my car but I’ve had that issue with other phones. It’s a pixel 6

I would say don't worry unless your having issues then there is something to worry about.

I would say the most drastic thing you would notice in the event of damage is a swollen battery and in the event you would have other issues.

It's probably fine but I'd also put it somewhere else in the car, or close that vent.

its fine.

to remove screens you have to blast a hair dryer (higher the heat faster the screen adhesive melts)

So a short burst of car heat isnt too bad
