Cannot achieve 144HZ on my LG 27GL850 with HDMI cable

Fuzzyy

So I have the LG 27GL850, which is 2560x1440, 144Hz monitor. I know this monitor and my GPU supports HDMI 2.0 and both ports on my GPU and my monitor are HDMI 2.0 ports. Main reason I don't want to connect with DP is that I have my M1 Macbook  connected with DP to type-c cable to have 144hz there. I don't know what am I missing here, I tried every HDMI port combination possible, and I still can't get over 100Hz on 2560x1440. Any ideas?

The HDMI 2.0 spec allows for 144 Hz, but the monitor may only have implemented up to 100 Hz.

[Edit] Do you have Freesync or Adaptive Sync (in the OSD) enabled? It looks like it's limited to 100 Hz over HDMI in that case:

Maybe try disabling those if so.
