No POST with memory in every other slot or dual channel

I have isolated the problem to the motherboard DIMM slots or cpu memory controller. This was done by trying to POST with each DIMM in the two left sockets. I tested one DIMM, no POST, the other, NO POST. Also ran Memtest86 and Prime95 blend for 24 hours each, no errors in single channel mode.

My configuration is:

i5 3570k (left at stock clock for tests)

Gigabyte Z77X-UD3H

4 GB Crucial Ballistix Sport 1333 at 9-9-9-24 timings and 1.5v

EVGA GTX 660

Could be a faulty board or like you said the memory controller in the cpu but don't call Intel 'till you're certain it can be the only problem

You might want to check if there are any bent pins in the cpu socket, this can cause problems with the memory.
