Battlefield 2042 Crashing on 6000 series AMD card

Zurnar

Battlefield 2042 has crashed for me many times since release on my 6900XT. I keep getting DirectX Errors no matter what I try to change in hopes of fixing the issue. So far I have tried messing with various game settings to attempt to see if one of those were crashing my drivers (Fullscreen > borderless windowed, Ultra > low presets, Vsync on/off, Nvidia reflex on/off, etc). Additionally, I had my card mildly overclocked, and setting it back to factory settings didn't help. The reason why I'm almost sure its an AMD card only issue, is because during 2042's beta I was able to swap in a 2080ti to try running the beta, and it worked just fine without any crashes for the rest of the beta, and I was having the exact same issues then with DirectX crashes. I'm posting somewhat for potential ideas that might help, but mostly because I want to see if my issue is somehow isolated to just me, or if others have also experienced this as well. If you have a 6000 series card and have issues (or hopefully no issues) with 2042, I'd love to know.

For some clarification, No, I didn't remove my graphics card from my system, and no I didn't update my drivers while playing the game. I understand that is what the error says, but that isn't the case. Also, I have the latest AMD driver 21.11.2 installed, and had 21.11.1 installed for the first couple of crashes.

Sounds like typical quality AMD drivers. This error on Frostbite games is the sign of driver crashes. If you did the DDU dance (Uninstall AMD graphics drivers using DisplayDriverUninstaller and installed it clean), there really isnt much you can do. You can try reinstalling windows but there is absolutely no guarantee.

I had the same problem with my 6900XT until I've reset my Performance / Tuning settings, had my card slightly underclocked / undervolted.

Only had this error once since then while trying to load into a portal game.
