Which Monitor For 500$

For your budget the MSI MAG274QRF-QD is as good as it gets.

Refresh rate? Screen size? Do you have any other preference like the panel(TN, VA, IPS)?

I am getting pretty fucking sick and tired of the "watch something else" responses. It's such a cop out answer because you could say that about basically anything, and it doesn't address the actual complaints. People use it as some kind of card they pull when they can't actually respond to the criticism raised but they still feel like they need to defend some company/person. If you don't like this thread then stop reading it. See how stupid it is? It's basically like telling someone "shut the fuck up". It's not a clever responsive, it doesn't address anything said, and it is rude.

screen size really doesnt matter to me as long as its under like 32", and preferably 144-165 if its 1440p. im not really sure about the panel.

Both pretty fine, the other ideas in mind would be Odyssey G5 by Samsung at that price range.

I love my LG Ultra Gear. Had it for a couple of years now and I've only started liking it more and more. I think that choice is probably more so personal on aesthetics than anything.

the QD is the best monitor available for under 700usd, the non-qd loses alot of its advantages.

Apart from Samsung monitors generally not being that good and having numerous firmware issues, the G5 series mostly consists of "even-slower-than-average" VA monitors. I'd strongly advice against them.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.
