Laptop USB ports stopped working this morning

Origami Cactus

the 2 USB type-A ports on my lenovo just completely stopped working. I plugged all kinds of usbs into it, but doing so doesn't even refresh the device manager list, so the usb ports are completely dead for some reason. I even tried to plug in power only devices, and they receive no power.

Worked just fine yesterday evening.

They also don't work in safe mode or even the bios. :old-sad:

What happened? I didn't do a windows update.

The 2 type C 20gbit ports still work, as they are on a different controller presumably.

Things i have done so far:

*Safe mode.

*Uninstalled all usb-controller drivers from device manager and allowed windows to reinstall them.

*Ran all the lenovo diagnostics

*scanned windows system

*tried every single usb device in the history of usb devices in both ports.

*usb keyboard doesnt work in bios on these 2 ports... If i use type c port then it works.

Did my usb controller die on the laptop?
