iMac comparable monitor

I am currently looking for a monitor that is comparable in specs and performance to the display on the iMac 24" at less or the same as $800 USD. Why? My relative (photographer) is shopping for an iMac or Mac Mini and they would rather have the Mac Mini with an external monitor (which would have to meet the specs of an iMac) because of the modularity and potential savings. Could you please aid me in the quest of finding a monitor?

 

For help, here are some of the specs of the iMac 24" monitor (according to Apple):

-P3 color gamut

-4480 x 2520 resolution (The resolution doesn't matter quite as much but would be preferable at 1440p)

the one i'd go with is the pd2720u, it's a bit worse than the ezio and nec models but alot cheaper

since you are in NY u can go to bh to see it physically

 

the current ezio and nec models are cg279x and pa271q, those are over 800bucks and just for spec reference

 

the cheaper benq ezio dell nec models if you wanna buy used

 

ezio cs2731 nec pa272w, benq sw270c and dell up2718q

 

again that's just the ones i know of,  it really depends on what inputs you need, i only use the pa272w for certain games. If my monitor broke today i'd get the pd2720u
